"As the weeks and months unfolded we realized that we were the victims of a broken promise." Martin Luther Kind, Jr.
Martin Luther King was an eloquent speaker, who spoke about real feelings that woke up people who just went about their days accepting whatever society gave them, even if they felt belittled and worthless as a human being. This quote does not stir anger or rage, it sends a message that every person was entitled to a free life where no stereotypes or racism should interfere with their freedom. I can relate to this quote in many ways as a caucasian individual in today's political promises where a politician promises to help students with student loans that are due upon graduation get assistance, yet when elected vote against the very platform they promised so they would be elected. Although the promises of the 60's and the Martin Luther King's platform where much more serious and worthy of demonstrations, I still can relate to broken promises.
